Saule, Pērkons, Daugava / Sun, Thunder, Daugava (2008)

Music has always been a great part of Latvian culture, so it’s no surprise that Latvians love to call themselves „The singing nation”. Latvian folk songs are main songs that are being sung in the All-Latvian Song and Dance Festivals, that has been held since 1873, with approximately 30,000 performers altogether participating in the event. The festival itself is held every five years, so in Latvia it's one of the most anticipated events of the decade, especially by the ones, that are performing in it.

Latvian Rap

Gustavo - Pluss Mīnuss (2010)

The most popular Latvian rappers of the century are definitely Ozols (Ģirts Rozentāls), Gustavo (Gustavs Butelis), Gacho (Gatis Irbe) and Kurts (Kurts Fridrihsons), as every singe one of them have performed over a decade and brought a significant role in the development of Latvia's urban world.
